Buy Stock Photography or Download Free Photos

October 12, 2016 by Alfredo Jensen

Many creative professionals are torn between downloading free photos and buying stock photography. Each has its own merits. Downloading free photos may have an alluring effect, especially if you are on a tight budget. But, we highly recommend you buy stock photography for reasons that will become clear in this article. There are plenty of places to take images. Free photos may sound amazing, but like there’s a catch.

When you download free photos, there are restrictions on how you can use the image. These restrictions can be very limiting that you may not be able to use the images properly. Whether it is adding attributions or links to the contributor, it may greatly affect your intended use. For instance, some images does not allow you to use them for commercial or editorial purposes. Contributors can tell you exactly how you can use their files. Not adhering to these terms may hurt your reputation and your pockets.

Free photos are very limiting, and rarely allow you to edit them. So if you want to use images in a design or creative project, buying a royalty free stock photo is the best option. It covers all the bases, especially in terms of reselling. Here are other reasons why you should buy stock photography:

  • It allows you to edit or retouch images to your liking. Being able to manage your photos can be very beneficial, especially if you need to an element. Using free photos does not allow you to support your creative projects fully because of certain limitations, imposed by the contributor.
  • You can get an extended license for unlimited print runs and resales. This is something that free photos are lacking. When you buy stock photography, you can purchase an extended license for a higher price. This license gives you bonus rights on how you can use your image downloads.
  • It saves you time and money. You may think that you can save more with free photos because they don’t require any budget at all. Well, you are wrong. You can be in a lot of trouble when you get caught by the copyright police. Copyright law violations does not only damage your reputation, it can also hurt your bank. Plus, you will be asked to take down the image. When you buy stock photography, you save time and money from all these hassles.

When you buy stock photography, you don’t have limitations. Most images come with a standard license. But if you need more rights to use the image without resistance, you can always get an extended license. Stock media agencies offer credit packages and subscription to help you save time and money. They also give you the opportunity to work with premium images at a discounted rate.

The Basics about iStock Promo Code

September 14, 2015 by Alfredo Jensen Leave a Comment

iStock lets you explore millions of royalty-free images, illustrations and vectors from its hand-picked collection. Offered at ridiculously great prices, the creative files can be purchased in either standard or extended license. Moreover, the website also offers corporate accounts for small teams and businesses that require a great amount of images for multiple users within the network. But the best thing about these images is the fact that they can be purchased with an iStock promo code.

Yes, aside from the already affordable prices of the images, the website gives you a chance to increase your savings through iStock promo codes. These iStock coupons are offered by the website itself to protect you from unreliable websites that claim to offer valid codes. They can also be acquired from trusted websites that have verified affiliation with iStock. These websites are a part of the stock agency’s affiliate program – meaning the codes they offer are valid and active.

How does iStock work?

iStock provides easy-to-use, royalty-free images, illustrations and vectors for almost all your creative projects. All creative files come from the website’s community of contributors from all around the world. To ensure that you are purchasing high quality images, the website is implying strict quality standards. The images are thoroughly vetted to make sure that they meet with the stock agency’s standards.

When you purchase an image from iStock, you are buying a standard or extended license that allows you to use the file in blogs, websites, marketing, advertising, presentations and other creative projects stated in the agreement. The images are royalty-free, which means you can use them in any project you want, as long as you comply with the terms. If you want to use the images in more ways, you can purchase the extended license.

Collections and Costs

Every file in the website falls into two categories: Essentials and Signature. The Essentials collection is composed of files that fit your everyday needs. On the other hand, the Signature collection is composed of hand-picked images that you can only find from the website. Of course, the Signature collection is more expensive than the Essentials. You can get the lowest prices from both collections by subscribing to a plan and getting an iStock coupon code.

Are you planning to subscribe to an image plan? Have you found the right stock image agency to sign up with? iStock provides you with a wide range of images for your everyday needs and even on special occasions. It also offers iStock coupon codes that you can use to further your savings. With an already affordable price range, the website becomes more attractive and suitable for your creative needs.
